Disclaimer

The Indic Journal publishes news, opinion, analysis and explanatory material for general information and public discussion. This page explains the limits of that material and how to raise a concern. It should be read with our Terms of Use, Editorial Policy and Privacy Policy.
1. Accuracy, context and developing stories
We aim to publish useful, accurate information, but errors, omissions and delays can occur. A story reflects the information available when it was prepared or updated. Breaking developments, preliminary figures, allegations and early official statements may change as additional evidence becomes available.
Read the article’s date, relevant qualifications and linked sources. An archive is a record of earlier coverage, not a promise that every historic paragraph describes the present position. A later correction to one article does not necessarily change a separately published archive, quotation or external copy.
A headline or short summary cannot convey every qualification in a full report. An allegation is not a finding of guilt, and publication of a person’s response is not endorsement of it. We welcome specific corrections supported by reliable information.
2. News, opinion and contributor perspectives
Opinion, commentary and analysis involve interpretation. A contributor’s conclusions are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of the publisher, every editor or other contributors. Reasonable readers may disagree with an argument.
An author’s stated profession, affiliation or biography provides context; it should not be read as an independent guarantee of every credential or claim. Editorial review and a byline do not eliminate the possibility of error. A quotation records what a source said, not necessarily a fact established by the publication.
3. No individual professional advice
Material about law, taxation, finance, investments, health, safety, careers or education is not a substitute for advice suited to your personal circumstances. Reading an article or contacting the newsroom does not create a doctor–patient, lawyer–client, investment-adviser or other professional advisory relationship.
Do not rely on general reporting alone to make a medical, legal or financial decision. Consult an appropriately qualified professional and, where relevant, the current official source. Investment values can change and examples or forecasts are not promises of returns. For an immediate threat to life or safety, contact the relevant emergency service rather than waiting for a newsroom response.
4. Live feeds, market figures and public data
Headlines, official updates, weather, air-quality information, market prices, exchange rates and other feed-based features can be delayed, cached, incomplete or temporarily unavailable. “Latest” or “live” presentation does not guarantee that every item is real-time or that the newest source revision has already reached the page.
Check the named source, timestamp, units and location. A figure for one station, city, exchange or reporting period may not describe another. Do not treat website widgets as a trading terminal, an emergency-warning system or an authoritative substitute for a public agency’s current advice. If a displayed value appears wrong or lacks sufficient context, verify it independently before acting.
5. Photographs, illustrations and AI-assisted material
Article images may include licensed photography, archival images, general topic photographs, maps, illustrations or AI-generated artwork. A representative photograph of a court building, cricket ground or technology device is not necessarily a photograph of the event described. An illustration is not documentary evidence that a depicted scene occurred.
Image captions and credits should explain significant context, including illustrative or AI-generated use where relevant. Automated writing, formatting, translation or image tools can introduce errors and do not establish the truth of a claim. A label such as “fact checked” should be understood in the context of the stated review, not as certification by a court, regulator or independent organisation.
This explanation does not excuse a misleading caption, manipulated evidence or an unrelated image. Please report a mismatch or unclear attribution so the editorial team can investigate.
6. Sponsored content, PR and affiliate relationships
Where an article or placement is paid for or produced as part of a commercial arrangement, the relationship should be clearly disclosed. Sponsored or promotional material is distinct from independent editorial reporting. A company’s presence on the website does not mean we guarantee its products, financial position, conduct or claims.
Advertisements may be selected or served by third-party systems. An ad appearing next to an article is not necessarily the author’s recommendation. If an affiliate relationship applies to a link, it should be disclosed near the relevant content; a general disclaimer does not replace a specific disclosure.
Promotional publication does not guarantee search rankings, sales, enquiries, investment returns or approval by Google or another platform. Check the seller’s identity and terms and make your own assessment before purchasing, investing or providing personal information.
7. External links and reader contributions
We link to sources to help readers understand and verify reporting. External websites can change or remove content and have their own privacy practices and terms. Linking is not blanket endorsement, and we do not control a third party’s availability or handling of your information.
Comments and other reader contributions may express unverified claims or personal views. Their presence does not make them the publisher’s statement. Moderation cannot guarantee that every problem is detected before it is seen. Report suspected illegality, infringement, abuse or exposed personal information through the contact below rather than reposting it publicly.
8. Copyright, names and attribution
Content and imagery can belong to the publication, a contributor or another rights holder. A source credit, trademark reference or public link does not mean the material is free to reuse. Descriptive references to organisations, parties or public institutions do not imply their sponsorship of or affiliation with The Indic Journal.
If you believe material has been used without appropriate permission or attribution, identify the article, the work concerned and the basis of your claim. We will assess it in context, including licences and any applicable statutory exceptions; this site does not rely on a blanket “fair use” declaration for every image or quotation.
9. Support, service limits and legal rights
A voluntary contribution supports the publication and does not automatically buy a membership, editorial influence or publication of a submission. The QR support page is not an automatic payment-verification system. The relevant payment app supplies its transaction confirmation; contact us and the provider about a payment problem.
We cannot promise uninterrupted access, universal suitability or that general information will produce a particular result. However, this disclaimer does not exclude responsibility for fraud, wilful misconduct or liability that cannot legally be limited, and it does not remove mandatory consumer, privacy or other statutory rights.
10. Corrections and contact
Email contact@theindicjournal.com with the article URL, the passage or image concerned, an explanation and any reliable supporting source. For an urgent privacy or safety concern, state that clearly without including unnecessary sensitive details. You can also consult our Corrections page.
We may revise this disclaimer as the publication develops. The date at the top identifies the current version. No statement here is a guarantee of regulatory certification, advertising eligibility or third-party platform approval.
